A region is an area on a page that displays information and can contain either portlets, items, or tabs. You can edit a region to specify all kinds of region properties, such as the width of the region, whether to display a banner at the top of the region, whether to group items in an item region, or how much space to provide around the portlets in a portlet region.
To
edit a region, you must have at least one of the following privileges:
Manage All privileges on the page group to which the page belongs
Manage privileges on the page
Manage global privileges on All Pages
If you have Full Customization privileges on a page, you can edit regions in your own tabs when you customize the page; you cannot edit regions anywhere else in the page.
Go to the page with which you want to work.
Switch to Edit mode.
Click
in the region you want to edit.
If the region is an item region, you can:
Change the region type
Change the region name
Display or hide the region or group by banner
Change the height or width of the region
Change the number of columns in the region
Change the item spacing
Group items in the region
Order items in the region
Set a uniform height or width for item images
Change the alignment of items in the region
Change the attributes displayed in the region
Apply a different style to the region
If the region is a portlet region, you can:
Change the region type
Freeze the content of the region
Change the region name
Display or hide the region banner
Change the height or width of the region
Change the number of columns in the region
Change the item spacing
Display or hide portlet headers or borders
Display or hide portlet header links
Change the attributes displayed in the region
If the region is a tab region, you can:
Freeze the content of the region
Change the width of the region
Change the alignment of tabs in the region
Add a rollover effect to tabs in the region
Apply a different style to the region
Click OK or Close to return to the page.
