The style you apply to a region governs the colors and fonts used by the region and all the tabs, portlets, and items displayed within it.
By default, regions use the same style as the page they belong to. However, you can choose to apply a different style to a region.
To
apply a style to a region, you must have at least one of the
following privileges:
Manage All privileges on the page group to which the page belongs
Manage Style privileges on the page
Manage Style global privileges on All Pages
If the page group setting to allow page owners to control the style of a page is enabled, users with Manage privileges on the page can also apply a style to a region.
You cannot change the style of a portlet region.
Go to the page on which you want to work.
Switch to Edit mode.
Click
in the region to which you want to apply a different style.
Click the Attributes/Style tab (for item regions) or the Style tab (for tab regions).
The Preview section displays a preview of the current style's settings. To apply a different style to the region, choose the style you want to use in the Choose Style list. If you want the region to use the same style that is applied to the page, choose <Use Page Style>.
Note: The Choose Style list includes all the public styles in this page group and the shared objects page group, as well as any styles that you have created in this page group for your own use.
The style you chose is applied to the region, and the preview is refreshed to show the style's settings.
If you are satisfied with the style you have chosen, click Close to return to the page.
Tip: If you cannot find a style with the color and font settings that you want, and you have the appropriate privileges, you can edit an existing style to meet your requirements.
