Portal provides a generic Page portlet that you can use to include a page within a region of another page. You can display the entire page, or choose just a few regions from the page to display.
Note: This help topic provides the steps for adding a page that is not published as a portlet to another page. If you are creating a page that you later plan to add to other pages (and possibly share with other users), you can publish that page as a portlet. The portlet that you create will be available in the Portlet Repository. After you create the portlet, you can follow the steps for adding the portlet to a page.
To
add a page to another page, you must have at least one of the
following privileges:
Manage All privileges on the page group to which the page belongs
Manage Content privileges on the page
Manage Content global privileges on All Pages
Notes:
If you have at least Add-Only Customize Portlets privileges on a page, you can add a page to that page when you customize the page. The page you add will only be visible when you view the page on which you placed the portlet; other users will not be able to see the page portlet.
When you add a page to another page, significant table nesting occurs in the underlying HTML. If you are using a Netscape browser, serious performance problems can occur when the page is rendered. It is not advisable to nest pages within pages in a Netscape environment. If you add a page that contains several portlets, performance for the page will most likely be degraded no matter which browser is used.
When you add a page to another page, you can customize the page you add so that you can edit it directly from within the container page itself. This allows you to edit a page quickly, without using the Navigator.
