Each region on a page may contain one or more portlets. The steps to add a portlet to a page vary depending on whether you want the portlet to be visible to all users of the page, or just yourself.
With regards to page customization, it is useful to think of two versions of a page: the version that everyone sees, and the one that individual users see. Different levels of customization apply to each version.
To add a portlet to the default version of a page that everyone sees, you must have the Manage Content privilege (or higher).
To add a portlet to your own private version of a page, you must have the Manage Content privilege (or higher) for the page.
Users with Manage Items With Approval privileges cannot add portlets to any page.
Navigate to the page on which you want to add a portlet.
Note: If you do not see the page that you want to work with, you may not have the appropriate page access privileges. See your page group administrator to gain access.
To add a portlet to the default version of the page, click Edit to switch to Edit mode.
To add a portlet to your own version of the page, click Customize to switch to Customize mode.
Click
in the region in which you want to add a portlet.
Note: If the region already includes items you can not add portlets to the region.
In the Portlet Repository, click the name of the portlet category that includes the portlet that you want to add. For example, Content or Portal Tools. If you know the name of the portlet, enter it in the Search field and click Go.
To preview a portlet before adding it to your page, click
next to the name of the portlet.
To add a portlet to your page, click the portlet name. Multiple selects are not supported.
The order of the portlets in Selected Portlets reflects the order in which they appear on the page. To change the order of the portlets, highlight the portlet name and use the arrows in between the two lists.
Click OK to return to the page.
URLs with frames can not be displayed within portlets.
