The Navigator provides access to all your Oracle9iAS Portal objects, including page groups, providers, and database objects.
Click the relevant tab, depending on what you are looking for:
Page Groups, Providers, Database Objects.
The Navigator displays a list of objects and the actions you are authorized to perform on those objects. The list of actions depends on your privileges.
Clicking on the name of an object will do one of two things:
If the object is page related (i.e., a page group, page, page template, navigation page, category, or perspective), clicking the name of the object displays that object. For example, clicking the name of a page displays the page, and clicking on the name of a page group displays the root page of the page group.
If the object is not page related and is a container for other objects, clicking the name of the object drills down to the contents of that object. For example, clicking the name of a Portal DB provider drills down to list the components within that provider, and clicking the name of a schema drills down to list the database objects within that schema.
If the object is not page related and is not a container for other objects, clicking the name of the object takes you to the edit or manage screen for the object. For example, clicking the name of a style takes you to the Edit Style screen, and clicking the name of a Portal DB provider component takes you to the Manage Component screen.
Use the links just below the Navigator tabs to create new objects.
Use the Path just below the Create New links to navigate back up to parent objects.
Use the arrow buttons to sort the objects in the order that best enables you to locate the object you are looking for. The green arrow indicates the current sort order.
If you know the name, or part of the name, of the object you are looking for, use the Find field to search in the current tab of the Navigator for that object.
