Adding a navigation page to a page

To provide consistent navigation throughout a page group, you can create a navigation page, and add that navigation page to every page in the page group (or add that navigation page to your page template).

NoteTo add a navigation page to a page, you must have at least one of the following privileges:

To add a navigation page to a page, the navigation page must be published as a portlet.

To add a navigation page to a page:

  1. Go to the page with which you want to work.

  2. Switch to Edit mode.

  3. In the region where you want to add the navigation page, click Add Portlets.

  4. Drill down through the Portlet Repository to the provider that contains the navigation page portlet. The navigation page is listed in the Portlet Repository under the page group to which it belongs.

The location of the provider depends on how the Portlet Repository has been organized. If the page group is a fairly new provider, it may be under the New page of the Portlet Repository.

  5. Click the navigation page name.

Tip: To see a preview of the navigation page before adding it to your page, click Preview next to the navigation page name.

  6. Click OK to return to the page.

Tip: You might want to edit the region properties, for example, the region width, to improve the way the navigation page looks on the page.
