Students learning French

Last chance to visit the Centre d’histoire de Montréal in the old fire station: Reserve your tour for the 2020-2021 school year before November 1, 2020!

The museum will close the fire station to the general public on November 29, 2020, but will continue to receive groups until March 31, 2020, as long as they reserve before November 1, 2020.

The Centre d’histoire de Montréal will become the MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises (in French).

A pioneer of history tours for students learning French, the CHM has welcomed groups of immigrants since 1992. Discovering the city’s part and interacting with the guide become a means of cultural integration and linguistic immersion for these groups. The tour emphasizes common historical knowledge, understanding and orientating oneself in Montréal today and welcoming exchanges in a public cultural institution.

Whether they are beginners, intermediate or advanced; whether they come from the regular school system or community organizations, the CHM has developed tours and materials just for them.
