Last chance to visit the Centre d’histoire de Montréal in the old fire station: Reserve your tour for the 2020-2021 school year before November 1, 2020!

The museum will close the fire station to the general public on November 29, 2020, but will continue to receive groups until March 31, 2020, as long as they reserve before November 1, 2020.

The Centre d’histoire de Montréal will become the MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises (in French).

CHM's educational tours

The CHM offers elementary level students educational tours that are adapted to their needs, interests and development, giving them the chance to better understand their city through its history, from the First Nations presence to the present day. A variety of means are used to arouse the students' interest and curiosity and offer them an enriching experience outside of their school context.

Our activities are based on the the objectives of the Québec Education Program developed by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport.

CHM and Une cole montralaise pour tous

CHMs tours are part of the Une cole montralaise pour tous directory (in French).

We also participate in cultural mediation projects, remarkable experiences for both teachers and students of participating schools. We initiated two projects for the 2012-2013 school year:

  • Jeunes citoyens engags
  • Qui a mis le feu Montral en 1734?
