Use the following steps to add an item that display links to one or two levels of sub-pages associated with the page that includes the item.
You
must be logged on as a page owner or an authorized user with the
appropriate page or item-level privileges to add items.
Navigate to the page on which you want to add the item.
Note: If you do not see the page that you want to work with, you may not have the appropriate page access privileges. See your page group administrator to gain access.
Switch to Edit mode.
Click
in the region in which you want to add the item.
Note:
If
(the add item icon) does not display next to the region, the region
may be a portlet region (and may contain portlets). In this case, you
cannot add items to this region.
From the Built-In Navigation Item Types list, choose Sub-Page Display.
Note: If this item type does not appear in the list, contact your page group administrator. Your administrator selects which item types to display here.
Click Next.
Choose Display One Level of Sub-Pages or Display Two Levels of Sub-Pages. If you were to create the following:
A Marketing page group with
a sub-page named Global Marketing.
Then, if you add a sub-page display item to the Global Marketing page and select Display One Level, the item appears as:
European Marketing
If you select Display Two Levels, the item appears as:
European Marketing
Events
Select Display Sub-Page Icon
to display the sub-page icon
next to the sub-page display item link.
Select Display Sub-Page Description to display the description of the sub-page under the sub-page display item link.
Select Display Sub-Page Image and Rollover Image to display the sub-page's image and rollover image, if available. The image takes the place of the sub-page's name, and represents the sub-page, in the list of pages. The rollover image displays when users move the cursor over the sub-page.
Specify the Number of Columns to use when displaying the list of sub-pages.
Select whether to display the sub-pages that you select, or to Select All Sub-pages for Display.
If you select to display certain sub-pages, you can specify those pages in the Displayed Sub-Pages list.
Select the sub-pages that you want to add to the sub-page display
item and click
to move them to the Displayed Sub-Pages
list. To move all sub-pages to the Displayed
Sub-Pages list, click
.
The Displayed Sub-Pages
lists the sub-pages that have been added to the sub-page display
item. Click
to change the order in which the sub-pages are displayed for the
sub-page display item. To remove sub-pages from the sub-page display
item, select them in the Displayed Sub-Pages
list and click
.
To remove all sub-pages, click
.
Note: If additional sub-pages are created under the parent page that includes this sub-page display item, they will be displayed for this item, even if you choose only to display the sub-pages that you select here.
Select No Image to not display an image with the sub-page display item.
Select Default Image to
display the default image
with the sub-page display item. The user can click this image to
display the sub-pages.
Select Image to specify an image for the sub-page display item. Enter the location of the image. Use the first field to enter or browse for the image on your file system. This uploads the image into the portal. Alternatively, use the second field to enter the URL of an image, or reuse an image that has already been uploaded to the portal by entering its internal name (not file name) without a path, for example 1645.GIF.
When Display Two Levels of Sub-pages is selected and the options Display Sub-Page Icon and Display Sub-Page Description are selected, the options only apply to the top-level sub-pages. The lower level sub-pages only display links with the display name.
