Explorer and mountaineer Bernard Voyer has more than 30 years of expeditions to his credit. He was the first explorer from the Americas to circumnavigate the globe. His exploits include reaching the North Pole in 1994 and the South Pole in 1996, and scaling the highest mountain on every continent, including Everest in 1999.

Bernard Voyer now devotes his time to motivational speaking engagements around the world, sharing the values that guide him. He was a guest speaker in Houston for NASA astronauts. He is also deeply committed to youth and the environment.

The recipient of many honours, he is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec, a decorated recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal (Military Division) and a Knight of the Légion d’honneur (France). Winner of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s Gold Medal and holder of four honorary doctorates, he was recognized by the Governor General in 2002 as one of the 50 most important Canadians of the past 50 years. He now sits on the Polar Medal Advisory Committee.
