Digital culture and cultural entrepreneurship at the heart of the new agreement between City of Montréal and the government of Québec

Montréal’s cultural sector will be receiving a boost with the $153 million investment.

The City of Montréal and the Government of Québec have been renewed their Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal 2018-2021, which will focus on four areas: cultural spaces and citizen experience, patrimony, digital culture and cultural entrepreneurship. $4.3 million will be dedicated to improving the city’s digital culture and $270.000 to supporting cultural entrepreneurship development. The funding will also be spread out over the development of cultural infrastructure, the increasing of cultural experience of citizen, the encouragement of inclusion and the cultural diversity.
