
From 1985 to 2006, Sister Nicole Fournier was Executive Director of the Accueil Bonneau. During her 21-year mandate, she contributed to making the Accueil Bonneau a recognized resource for its social intervention among the itinerant population of Montréal. A woman of vision and audacity, preoccupied by the social reinsertion of persons having lived or living in an itinerant situation, she attached great importance to social housing and psychosocial counselling.
Appointed Congregational Secretary for the Grey Nuns of Montréal in 2006, she is also member of the Development Committee of Moisson Montréal and a board member of Renaissance Montréal, Oeuvres de Saint-Jacques and Radio Ville-Marie.
Her extraordinary dedication to Montréal and Quebec society has been repeatedly emphasized. She was awarded the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award in 2005. She is also a Chevalier of the Order of La Pléiade and a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec since 2006.
Sister Nicole Fournier was inducted into the Academy of Great Montrealers in the Social category in 2009 and was named a Commander of the Ordre de Montréal in 2016.
