Pierre Bruneau

Officer
2020

Pierre Bruneau is recognized as an information leader in Québec and a prominent figure in Montréal television for over forty years. His mastery of small screen journalism has marked many major events in our democratic life, such as the twenty-five provincial, federal and American elections he has covered so far, not to mention eleven Montréal elections, the dramatic events at the École Polytechnique and the 1998 ice storm crisis.

He was President for over two decades of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, created in Montréal in 1990 in memory of his young son Charles who died of leukemia, which was the force behind the construction of a pediatric hematology-oncology centre with three units located in Montréal, Québec City and Sherbrooke..

Thanks to Pierre Bruneau’s vision and philanthropic commitment, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation is now recognized as the main financial supporter of Québec research in infant oncology.
