A world-renowned expert in nephrology and kidney transplantation, Marie-Josée Hébert's name is closely associated with innovative research, as evidenced by the Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program, bringing together no less than 300 researchers, which she co-founded.

Vice-rector at the Université de Montréal, she is also a pioneer of Montréal's leadership in artificial intelligence. Bringing together experts, public decision-makers, citizens, industry players, organizations and professional orders, Marie-Josée Hébert's initiatives culminated in 2018 in the Montréal Declaration for a Responsible Development of Artificial Intelligence, internationally considered one of the most inclusive and comprehensive charters in this field.
