Executive Director of the Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum for over 20 years, Madeleine Juneau has brought the history of New France to life for Montrealers through its rich, immersive and constantly evolving programming. Her leadership contributes in an exemplary manner to the sustainability of this jewel of Montréal’s heritage and living testimony to its origins.

Its large-scale historical recreations, whether presented at the museum or beyond its walls, stand out for their unique character, as educational as it is enjoyable. In particular, the recognition of the Filles du Roy (the King’s Daughters) as builders of the city is an eloquent example of her determination to conserve and educate about the historical contributions of women to the city’s successful growth.

Madeleine Juneau brings history to the public in a living and inspiring manner through participation and human contact. Her creative, entrepreneurial approach has been recognized by many awards over the years.

Madeleine Juneau died on June 26, 2020.
