Comedian, author, artistic director, producer of drama series, radio host and pedagogue, Lorraine Pintal has led the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (TNM) since 1992. An inspired creator of exceptional versatility, she is the first woman to head this flagship cultural institution and has contributed greatly to its vibrancy.

Year after year, under her leadership, this company delivers theatrical productions of the highest quality. Lorraine Pintal has made the TNM a real service to theatregoers of all ages, thus providing successive generations access to major works from both the Québec and international dramatic repertoires. If the TNM is today a world-class institution that contributes powerfully to making Montréal a shining example of international francophone theatre, first credit must go to Lorraine Pintal.

Her contribution to the influence of our artistic scene fully qualifies her for the title of ambassador of Montréal, the cultural metropolis.
