Florence Junca Adenot has devoted her career to urban development, mass transit, real estate, education and culture.

Active at UQAM since 1971, she had a profound impact on the institution, particularly in terms of introducing innovative programs and the planned completion of the Campus de l'an 2000. As the first CEO of the Agence métropolitaine de transport, she played a decisive role in the growth of the metropolitan commuter train network, fare harmonization, and the development of incentivizing infrastructure. A key player in Montréal’s revitalization, she has headed a number of paramunicipal corporations, working to bring about such landmark projects as the World Trade Centre and the Pointe-à-Callière Museum. She has also contributed to the development of cultural institutions, helping to create the Centre Pierre Péladeau and the Agora de la Danse. A woman of vision, heart and action, Florence Junca Adenot is an admirable example of a life dedicated to the common good and the future of Montréal.
