Performing a basic search

Use the basic search portlet to search one or more selected page groups for items, pages, categories, and perspectives that contain specific words.

To perform a basic search:

  1. Add the Basic Search portlet to a page.

  2. Enter the words that you want to search for.

  3. In the Search In Page Groups field, select one or more page groups in which to search.

Note: If this field does not display, the "Edit Defaults" or "Customize" option Show page group selector is not enabled. If this is the case, all page groups are searched.

  4. Click Search.

Basic search finds content that contains the specified words. For example, if you enter:

weights aerobics

The results are displayed on the Basic Search Results Page.
