Editing a page template's properties is different from editing the template itself: that is, adding or editing content, manipulating regions, and so on. When you are editing a page template and want to see the effects on page based on the template, use the Go to Page link in the upper right corner of the Edit Dashboard to select the desired page.
After the page is displayed, you can use the Edit Template link to return to the template and continue your work. These links effectively set up a toggle so you can quickly switch between a template and the page(s) it affects.
Only users with the Edit privilege or above see the Edit Template link.
