A McGill University professor and recently appointed Medical Director of Health Equity at the Montréal Children's Hospital, her practice is anchored in the realities of immigrant families, asylum seekers, and racialized communities. A visionary thinker, she conceived and co-founded the DocTocToc mobile clinic in 2017 to offer accessible, community-based care to children aged 0 to 5, and to break down the barriers to health care access faced by families by meeting them directly where they live.
Mobilizing a broad network of partners, Rislaine Benkelfat’s leadership is rooted in both frontline action and the training of the next generation. Through her commitment, she contributes to making Montréal a more equitable and caring city.
