Édouard Staco

Knight
2026

A remarkable catalyst for change, Édouard Staco has made educational success, collective progress, the fight against discrimination, and the empowerment of the next generation the foundations on which he is helping to build a better shared future.

Founder and director since 2014 of the Fonds 1804 pour la persévérance scolaire, he has made it a powerful instrument for change. Its initiatives have reached more than 10,000 young people, parents, school staff, and community workers. Intent on cultivating a new generation of civic leaders, he founded the Académie de leadership Louverture-Mandela in 2022. Founding president, in 2017, of the Sommet socioéconomique pour le développement des jeunes des communautés noires, he has helped build a network of 78 organizations and community leaders around a shared ambition: to reveal the potential of a generation of young people essential to Quebec's future. Also an originator of the Observatoire des communautés noires du Québec, he helps guide its strategic development, in order to strengthen the production of knowledge and inform collective action. Through his community engagement, Édouard Staco strengthens the capacity of young people to act while contributing to the metropolis's ideal of inclusion, social justice, and shared success.
