Gérald Larose

As the long-serving president of the CSN, his actions left their mark not only on the labour movement but also on Québec society as a whole. A lover of the French language, its defence and promotion have always been an important part of his various roles. He was honoured by the Académie française for his contribution to the promotion of French, which has strengthened the visibility of Québec and its metropolis within the Francophonie.
