Edith Cyr

Edith Cyr is the Executive Director of the social economy enterprise Bâtir son quartier and has been engaged in the promotion of real estate and business cooperatives for over 35 years. Her leadership brings together political, community, institutional and private players in large-scale projects that assist underprivileged households and preserve and develop Montréal’s built heritage.

Bâtir son quartier, which she has led since its founding in 1994, assists cooperatives, non-profit organizations and citizen groups in developing community housing projects. It has helped create almost 13,500 community dwellings and is one of the most important residential promoters in the metropolitan region.

Besides chairing the Conseil d’économie sociale de l’île de Montréal, Ms. Cyr coordinates the Fonds d’Investissement de Montréal and sits on the board of directors of PME-MTL Grand Sud-Ouest.
