Item checkout provides document control for groups of users. When a user checks out an item, the item is "locked" and other users cannot edit the item. Other users can only view the item, not modify it. After the user checks in the item another user can check out the item and edit it. This prevents users from overwriting each other's changes.
Note: You must be logged on as a page owner or an authorized user with the appropriate page or item-level privileges.
Navigate to the page that includes the item.
Note: If you do not see the page that you want to work with, you may not have the appropriate page access privileges. See your page group administrator to gain access.
Switch to Edit mode.
Click
beside the item.
Select Enable Item Check-Out.
Note: If this option does not appear, the item's item type may not include the Enable Item Check-Out attribute. Contact your page group administrator for more information. You may need to use a different item type for your item, or have your administrator create an item type that includes this attribute.
Click OK.
