Adding and deleting favorites

The Favorites portlet enables you to quickly access your most often used and favorite Web sites.

Note: The display of the favorites on the Navigate Favorites page is not necessarily the same as the display in the Favorites portlet. Although you can nest favorite groups to several levels in the Navigator, only the first two levels are displayed within the Favorites portlet. To display a group's subgroups in the Favorites portlet, click Favorite Group.

To add a favorite:

  1. In the Favorites portlet banner, click the portlet name (by default, this is Favorites).

    The Navigate Favorites page displays.

  2. To add a favorite at the top level, click Create Favorite next to Actions. To add a favorite to a group, click Create Favorite next to the group.

  3. On the Add Favorite page, enter a display name for the favorite, the URL to display when you click the favorite's name, and an optional description of the favorite. The description displays only when you edit the favorite.

  4. Click Create.

If you added a favorite to the top level, the favorite displays when you return to the Navigate Favorites page. If you added a favorite to a group, the favorite does not display until you expand the group. The appearance of groups and favorites within the Favorites portlet is determined by the customization options chosen for the portlet.

  5. To return to the page, click Close.

To delete a favorite:

  1. In the Favorites portlet banner, click the portlet name (by default, this is Favorites).

    The Navigate Favorites page displays.

  2. Click Delete next to the favorite that you want to delete. A confirmation dialog does not display.

Note: You may have to expand a group so that you can see the favorite you want to delete.

  3. To return to the page, click Close.
