Refreshing a page

If you select the caching option, Cache Page Definition And Content For [ ] Minutes or Cache Page Definition And Content at System Level for [ ] Minutes, for the page, you can include a Refresh link on the page. You can use this link to refresh the page by regenerating it from the database. Only users with the appropriate privileges can use this link. Other users will not see this link.

Note: You must have at least the Manage Items With Approval privileges on the page to add a Refresh link.

To add a refresh link to a page:

Go to the page with which you want to work.
Switch to Edit mode.
In the item region where you want to add the refresh link, click .
Select Built-In Navigation Item Types, and choose Portal Smart Link in the Item Type list below the radio button.

Note: If you do not see Portal Smart Link in the list, the item type has been excluded from the page group, and you cannot add a refresh link to the page. You should contact your page group administrator for more information.
Click Next.
In the Portal Smart Link list, choose Refresh.
Select Use The Default Display Name to use the default display name: Refresh.

If you want to provide your own display name, enter the display name in the Display Name field.

If you do not want to use a display name for the refresh link (because you want to use an image instead), clear the field and the check box.
If you want to provide an image for the refresh link, in addition to, or instead of, a display name:
1. Enter either the location and file name of an image in the first Image field (labeled with the icon), or enter the URL of an image, or the internal name of an image, in the second Image field (labeled with the icon).
  
  Tip: If you do not know the name and location of the image you want to use for the refresh link, click Browse to locate the image on your file system.
2. In the Image Alignment list, choose an alignment for the image.

Click Finish.
