Montrealers Chill in Winter!

December 15, 2019 to March 15, 2020

Whether we like it or not, winter is part of Montrealers' daily lives for much of the year.

Every winter, we brave challenging weather to enjoy outdoor activities like the Christmas markets, the Nuit blanche all-nighter, and the Fête des neiges.

We practise our favourite winter sports: skating, skiing, snowshoeing, even ice canoeing – not to mention those intrepid souls who cycle or jog all year round.

Even if, by the end of the season, we long to stop shovelling snow, we've succumbed to winter's charms and still love to play in it.

The Centre d'histoire de Montréal invites photographers to dress warmly and go out to capture the spirit of Montrealers in their natural habitat: winter.

In the lead-up to the opening of the MEM – Memory of Montrealers, the Centre d'histoire de Montréal is taking yet another step in its new mission as a focal point for Montreal's identity.

In collaboration with Tourisme Montréal, Photo Service, Igloofest and the Conseil jeunesse de Montréal.

N.B.: Participating photographers must obtain the authorization of persons photographed, when they are identifiable, with regard to dissemination rights.
