Voisins solidaires (Good neighbours)
Do you know your closest neighbours? Would you like to get to know them better? It’s a well-known fact that harmonious neighbourhoods help foster mutual help and solidarity among residents—so long as everyone respects the privacy of others. Indeed, having a good relationship with our neighbours improves our well-being and our quality of life.
That’s why Saint-Laurent has joined in the Voisins solidaires (“good neighbours”) initiative, a pilot project of the Réseau québécois de Villes et Villages en santé (RQVVS). The first stage of this initiative involved a survey of Saint-Laurent residents’ perception of neighbourliness. The survey was done during the summer of 2013.
Results of the survey will be announced in December. Following this, Saint-Laurent residents will be provided with a number of communications tools to help them in their own efforts to get closer to their neighbours.
