Earth HourOnce again, the CDN—NDG Borough Council has adopted a resolution confirming that the borough takes part in Earth Hour. For this international event, on Saturday, March 28, people all over the world were invited to turn out their lights between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., local time, to show their support for efforts to fight climate change.

Since 2007, when the very first Earth Hour was held in Sydney, Australia, many other large cities around the globe have followed suit. The borough has participated for the third time, and invited CDN—NDG residents, merchants and businesses to turn out their lights. The borough, for its part, turned off lights in municipal buildings where it was possible to do so without interfering with services to residents.
