Linden Aphid Infestations

Does your linden tree make a sticky mess during the summer months? It’s probably caused by aphids. Although they don’t actually harm the trees they invade, linden aphids, also known as lime aphids, create inconvenience due to the honeydew they produce, which makes everything under the tree sticky.

There are simple and effective actions residents can take to assist in the integrated management of aphids on linden trees (also know as tilias or lime trees). The borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce offers short-, medium- and long-term methods for reducing aphid populations in order to help mitigate the honeydew problem. You can learn more by reading our pamphlet.
