The Depot Community Food Centre
Since 2015, The Depot Community Food Centre, known as NDG Food Depot, has operated the “Marché bonne bouffe NDG/NDG Good Food Market.”The organization’s aim is to make it easier to access fresh fruit and vegetables and to promote healthy eating habits within the community.
To help meet its objectives, The Depot Community Food Centre will be selling fruit and vegetables in public parks and areas again this summer, this time in Parc Georges Saint-Pierre, at the Walkley Centre and in Parc Herbert-Outerbridge.
The The Depot Community Food Centre is an important community partner and has been assisting borough residents for many years. It is not always easy for low-income individuals to access fresh fruit and vegetables, and travelling to the large public markets often involves additional expenses. Local events such as the Marché bonne bouffe NDG/NDG Good Food Market also help raise awareness and educate the public about the benefits of healthy eating.
