Local mobility plan
A Local Mobility Plan is a planning document intended to guide decision-making in transportation across the borough of Verdun for the next five years.
The plan presents an overview of problems and issues, then targets actions based on three priority areas:
- Safety of mobility and quality of life;
- Active transportation and public transit
- The road network and parking.
Through public consultations in neighbourhoods, online and in schools, three priorities quickly emerged:
- Safety in the vicinity of schools
- Improvement of the bike path network
- Harmonious cohabitation between users
These priorities thus became those of the borough.
The plan will ultimately increase public safety and promote the use of active transportation and public transit through innovative proposals, compelling approaches and pilot projects.
The Local Mobility Plan is available here in French only.
With the adoption of its Transportation Electrification Strategy, Montréal hopes to distinguish itself as a city of innovation by drawing on new technologies in transportation electrification. This project is in line with the Transportation Plan, whose objective is to transform and improve mobility in Montréal.
