Oracle9iAS Portal pages can be displayed in mobile devices, such as cell phones.
To provide access to standard pages from mobile devices, you must enable the mobile access global setting. This setting specifically controls whether the portal accepts or rejects requests routed through Oracle9iAS Wireless, which acts as the mobile gateway between mobile devices and Portal. For information about how to enable this setting, see the following procedure.
To enable page designers to create pages specifically for mobile devices, you must also enable the mobile page design global setting. This setting also enables users to specify a different default home page when they access the portal from a mobile device. For information about how to enable this setting, see the following procedure.
Upon installation, the Oracle9iAS Wireless Service URL is automatically set. If for some reason, you need to change this URL, for example, if you want to register the portal with a different Oracle9iAS Wireless Service, see the following procedure.
