To reduce the combustibility of wall services, only 20% can be covered with items such as decorations, arts and crafts or posters.

Naturally, people love seeing the walls of a day care centre covered with posters, crafts, photos or their children's first works of art! However, when they cover every wall and door, they could fuel the start of a fire and impede access to emergency exits, making it difficult to evacuate children quickly and safely.

Consequently, municipal fire prevention by-laws only allow 20% of walls in day care centres to be decorated. This reduces the combustibility of the wall surface to a reasonable degree, without compromising our children's creativity and imagination.
