Financial assistance program for businesses located in an area affected by major construction

As part of the 2018-2022 business action plan, Montréal launched a financial assistance program in January 2019 for businesses located in areas affected by major construction projects in order to minimize the impacts of construction on their business.

Financial assistance up to $30,000 per fiscal year is calculated according to merchants’ real loss.

Merchants’ loss of gross profit is calculated by comparing the gross profit recorded in any fiscal year during which construction took place with the gross profit recorded during any comparable fiscal year prior to construction. The first 15% of the loss of gross profit for a fiscal year is not covered by the subsidy program.
