Join the Conseil jeunesse LaSalle!

You are dynamic and want to make a difference in your community?

BE HEARD!

The Youth Council is looking for motivated young people who have an interest in democratic life and want to represent the Borough's 14-24-year-olds. This Council will give you a chance to experience governance and commitment in working with the Borough's elected officials so that you can voice the concerns of the young people in your age group. The Youth Council will promote the collective and individual power of young people so that they can be recognized and respected as full-fledged residents.

Make a video (approximately 30 seconds) or write a letter of interest :

  • Introduce yourself shortly
  • Explain what you like about LaSalle
  • Describe what you would like to see in LaSalle

Bylaws of the Conseil jeunesse de LaSalle

  • Candidates must be residents of the Borough of LaSalle.
  • Candidates must be between 14 and 24 years of age.
  • Candidates must attend monthly meetings, except during summer breaks.
  • Candidates must show interest in the Conseil jeunesse LaSalle, without having any other political responsibilities (e.g. the Conseil jeunesse de Montréal or the Forum jeunesse de l'Île de Montréal).
  • The Conseil jeunesse LaSalle values diversity in all its forms (cultural, gender, ethnic, social, linguistic, geographical, etc.).
  • The Conseil jeunesse LaSalle is composed of 10 to 15 members.
  • All candidates must first be interviewed. However, some non-selected applicants may be chosen to form part of a reserve bank of candidates who may be contacted in subsequent processes.
  • Candidates selected to join the CjL at the end of the official recruitment period are given a two-year term of office.
