40th dition - Montral History and Heritage

September 15, 2018 to February 15, 2019

The 40th edition of the Centre d'histoire de Montral's All Eyes on Montral photo contest invites citizens and tourists to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tourisme Montral, under the theme of history and heritage.

Historical buildings, skyscrapers, homes, train stations, or places of worship: over time, these places reveal the rich history of the biggest French-speaking city in North America. Participants are invited to capture Montral's historical character and to showcase the heritage they love.

In collaboration with Tourisme Montral, Photoservice, Ville de Montral, the Conseil jeunesse de Montral, and Maison de la photo de Montral.

And the winners are:

1st prize - Tourisme Montral

La dernire neige
By Julie St-Georges

A scene of daily life on a winter's day.

The atmosphere and the sensitivity contained in this image seem to tell a story, which is set off even more effectively by the composition.

2nd prize

3rd prize - Ville de Montral

Sphre urbaine
By ric Gagnon

This photograph stands out for the highly original angle of the shot. The effect of the perspective is equally striking, particularly due to the image's remarkable clarity.

An unprecedented dimension of the biosphere is revealed here.

3rd prize

Conseil jeunesse de Montral's prize - Ville de Montral

Rves suspendus
By Louis-Olivier Brassard

The Olympic Stadium as it's never been seen before!

Although this image evoking a lunar landscape seems to have been taken in black and white, it is a true colour photo. The abstract composition places it on the border between the real and the imaginary.
