39th édition - Montréal All Dressed!

September 15, 2017 to February 15, 2018

“Cultural diversity makes Quebec’s largest city attractive – and appetizing! From the time of the encounter between the territory’s First Nations and the French colonizers through to Expo 67 and beyond, Montreal has been enriched by the contributions of the communities who have settled here. Customs, languages, religious beliefs, associations, small businesses, restaurants, markets, festivals and other cultural events have influenced the character of many of the city’s neighbourhoods.

The prize-winning photographs will be expressions of what brings Montrealers together at events but also in day-to-day life, in shared spaces which are meeting points for people of all origins, in every season. We invite you to capture images of diversified Montrealness – all dressed!

In collaboration with Tourisme Montréal, Photoservice, the City of Montreal, the Conseil jeunesse de Montréal, and Maison de la photo.

And the winners are:

1st prix - Tourisme Montréal

Murale chinoise
By Yves Guertin

An element of fantasy brightens up a street scene in this quintessential image of the everyday diversity of Montreal. The photographer has captured the striking contrast between the geometrical, colourless bus shelter and the vivid background, reminding us of the delights to be discovered around every corner in our city.

Prix du Conseil jeunesse de Montréal - Ville de Montréal

Musique sur Wellington
By Élodie Le Pape

We can almost hear klezmer music filling the air in this image of a laid-back festivity in Griffintown on a summer day. The young photographer has captured the congenial spirit of this get-together among friends, making us want to join them.

Montréal toute garnie!
