Temporary exhibitions
The museum is especially interested in the everyday life of Montrealers and in their life stories. Temporary exhibitions promote the city, its inhabitants and their lives. Our temporary exhibitions stand out in their community and social approach that focuses on the memory of Montrealers.
From June 16, 2017 to October 11, 2020
Arranged in evocative spaces, this immersive exhibition will recapture innovative, illuminating moments of Expo 67 through memories of the event that are remarkably vivid and occasionally shatter our expectations – memories recounted by all sorts of people who took advantage of this formative experience during their youth. It will also be an opportunity for those who did not see Expo 67 to get a feeling of what it was like to be there, and to be young in Montreal toward the end of an unforgettable decade.
May 12 to December 22, 2019
Young people newly arrived in Montreal present their takes on the City through the filter of their respective cultural and personal backgrounds. They come from Haïti, Algeria, Moldova, Philippines or China. Their varied perceptions of the City also open a window on the reality of immigration.
