Begin the activity with a special visit to the CHM. We’ll then explain the story of how the Roulotte travelling theatre came to be in 1953 and tell students about Paul Buissonneau, the man behind this fantastic project.

Story: Jeannot et la Roulotte (in French)
This activity introduces students to history in an original and entertaining way. It presents a time not so long ago, when their grandparents were children. It explores two topics that children love: parks and games. It also relates back to the present day – the children’s own history – since La Roulotte is still rolling through Montréal’s parks.
  • Primary - Cycle 2
“Le Chat botté” in the style of Paul Buissonneau (in French)
Here’s an original activity that will delight your students: putting on a production of “Le chat botté” in the style of Paul Buissonneau’s La Roulotte. Through ten workshops, they will discover the script, learn how to use their bodies and voices and prepare each scene, leading up to the final performance – and what about inviting family and friends to the play? Their efforts will be well rewarded, and they will realize what they are capable of achieving!
  • Primary - Cycle 3
Reinventing “Le Chat botté” (in French)
Here’s an original activity that will delight your students: creating an adaptation of “Le chat botté” and performing it in the style of Paul Buissonneau’s La Roulotte. Through ten workshops, they will discover a classic version of the script and an adaptation by Paul Buissonneau. Finally, they will create their own version. They will learn how to use their bodies and voices and prepare each scene, leading up to the final performance – and what about inviting family and friends to the play?
