Living in harmony with wildlife
In Montréal, there is a strong demand to maintain and increase biodiversity and opportunities for contact with nature, and rightfully so. Nature in the city has many benefits for the community (in French).
However, challenges also emerge. Plant and animal species that we share living space with can be perceived negatively, as they can be a nuisance to some people. However, implementing measures for harmonious cohabitation can reduce or eliminate these nuisances.
Some human behaviour can cause major problems for biodiversity in Montréal. These actions, often believed to be harmless, should be better known, as precautions can make for positive contacts between humans and nature on both sides!
