Fire department
The Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal at a glimpse
The mission of the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM) is to save lives, protect property and preserve the environment. The department has 65 stations strategically located across the agglomeration of Montréal and can count on the combined efforts of 2,300 firefighters, of which approximately 500 are on duty 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and 400 administrative employees.
There are two fire stations in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough: station 57, located at 13795 Pierrefonds Boulevard; and station 58, located at 13 Commercial Centre Street. Borough residents can also count on the support of any neighbouring station in case of need.
Fire prevention is a very important part of the fire department's work. Citizens living in Pierrefonds-Roxboro can contact their local prevention office where a team of prevention officers will be able to answer their questions and needs (see contact information below).
Firefighter first responder service
The citizens of the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough have access to a firefighter first responder service. These prehospital emergency services are offered in conjunction with Urgences-santé paramedics.

Fire safety cover plan
In October 2008, the department received a certification of compliance from the Minister of Public Security, M. Jacques P. Dupuis, for its fire safety cover plan which was officially approved by the agglomeration council in December of the same year. This is great news for the population because the measures proposed in the plan will allow the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal to offer an optimal level of fire protection above and beyond the requirements of the ministry.
