Saint-Laurent Chapter of the Ville de Montréal's Master Plan
On June 21, 2005, Montréal Municipal Council adopted it by law amending the
Ville de Montréal Master Plan in order to integrate the Borough of Saint-Laurent
The Saint-Laurent Chapter it centered on two main orientations. The first is
to ensure the quality of life of residents from a perspective of sustainable
development. The second orientation entails consolidating employment sectors in
Saint-Laurent. These two orientations comprise 24 development objectives, which
in turn translate into more than 92 specific actions.
The Borough Chapter also targets nine detailed planning sectors that present
a complex or specific urban planning issue.
Urban Planning Advisory Committee (UPAC)
The Urban Planning Advisory Commitee (UPAC) is a task force
comprising Saint-Laurent elected officials and residents. Since its was created
in 1990, the UPAC has been mandated to study and make recommendations with
respect to the analysis of Plans d'implantation et d'intégration architecturale
(PIIA), applications for minor deviations, and demolition.
It also plays an advisory role to elected officials in the Borough with
respect to issues relating to urban planning, for instance in the study of
requests to amend urban planning bylaws.
