In order to ensure the success of neighbourhood celebrations and other special events, the Citizens’ Office oversees coordination between the different departments that are involved, including the Sevice de police de la Ville de Montréal and the Service de sécurité incendie of Montréal.
It should be noted that authorization is necessary in the following cases:
• Use of the public roadway, or of public spaces and parks
• An event that differs from those normally carried out by a company (for example, a BBQ on the grounds or warehouse sales open to the public)
• Large gatherings
• Neighbourhood parties
In all of these cases, residents must send a written application to the Citizens’ Office at email@example.com and allow 30 days for the file to be reviewed.
