Exhibitions

Chadi Ayoub
Triptych
Until August 25, 2019
Opening: Thursday, June 20, 2019, 5 p.m.

With Triptyque, Chadi Ayoub invites us to explore the notion of identity and the relationships of intimacy with others. The exhibition unveils a study of the morphological and expressive components of faces in a series of paper mâché sculptures. A catalogue is provided with this exhibition.

Daphne Boyer
Tout mon entourage / All my relations
Saturday, September 7 to Sunday, November 3, 2019
Vernissage and family workshop: Saturday, September 7 / 2 p.m.

Daphne Boyer is known for combining plant material, digital tools and women’s traditional handwork to create art that showcases her family’s Métis heritage and honours plants as the basis of life on earth. Daphne recently invented a digital beading technique called “Berries to Beads.” This technique evolved from her previous plant-based works and mirrors spectacular traditional Métis beading: it is methodical, meticulous and technically demanding. Her current work explores “Berries to Beads” applications in print, 360° animation and suspended installations.

Zhiheng Su et Florence Yee
Les lignes troubles
Thursday, November 14, 2019 to Sunday, January 19, 2020
Vernissage and family workshop: Saturday, November 16 / 2 p.m.

Exploring the boundaries between eastern and western art; between painting, drawing and photography; and between the Chinese identity as it is understood and its Canadian counterpart. These works examine the harmonious and discordant  coexistence between these opposing forces and provide insight into the consumer society.
