Calendar of council meetings

The borough council’s public sessions are normally held on the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m., in the public chamber of the borough hall located on the second floor of 1800 boulevard Saint-Joseph. Council meetings are open to the public and include a question period. During these sessions, residents are welcome to interact directly with their elected representatives.

The borough council administers the city’s affairs in compliance with the division of power and authority set out in the law or specified by city council. It can issue notices and make recommendations to city council on the budget, on the establishment of budget priorities, the preparation or amendment of the city plan, amendments to planning by-laws, or on any other matter referred to it by the city council. The borough council has jurisdiction, power and responsibility in the following areas:

  • planning
  • environment
  • local economic, community, cultural and social development
  • collection of residual material
  • culture, recreation and borough parks
  • local roads
  • fire prevention
