Montréal, July 9, 2018 – The Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough has been having contract problems for several weeks with the company currently responsible for collecting recyclables, and will now be taking exceptional steps to remedy the situation for residents in different sectors. The borough will be calling on crews of blue-collar workers to collect recyclables where this has not been done.
Depending on the local situation, additional collections may take place on Wednesday, for residents who are generally served on Monday and Tuesday, and on Saturday for pick-ups normally scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Residents' co-operation is essential: they absolutely must continue to put out their recyclables on the normal collection day in their sector. This will allow the borough to better identify sectors where there is a problem and to deploy the necessary resources efficiently and to the proper locations.
We are aware of the inconveniences caused by the problems with recyclable collection in the past weeks. Please be assured that we are working tirelessly to solve the situation as soon as possible. Regular collections on scheduled days will normally resume when a new contractor is hired, which we expect to be in the next few weeks.
Remember that the above measures are exceptional and temporary.
We suggest that you call 311 to report recyclables that have not been picked up on your street or for any other matters concerning the borough.
