Sustainable hygiene products
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, the applicant must:
For all
- Be a resident of CDN-NDG
- Submit the duly-completed form and supporting documents within three months of purchase
- Provide a void cheque
Purchase of washable diapers
- Be the parent of a child aged 24 months or under
- Purchase at least 20 new or used washable diapers
- Purchase fabric to make a set of at least 20 diapers (between 10 and 20 m of various fabrics and notions)
- Commit to using the washable diapers acquired with the grant for as long as your child wears diapers
- Submit only one application per eligible child
Rental of washable diapers
- Have one child aged 24 months or under
- Secure a rental service contract for at least 12 months
- Commit to using the washable diapers acquired with the grant for as long as your child wears diapers
- Submit only one application per eligible child
Supplement for low-income families
- Have a net family income of $51,340 or less
Purchase of sustainable feminine hygiene products
- Purchase sustainable feminine hygiene product(s) of any kind (menstrual cup, washable sanitary napkins, washable period underwear, sponges)
- Purchase material to make washable sanitary napkins
- Submit only one application per eligible person and per two-year period
Products accepted and details on the grants available
A – Washable diapers for babies
- Purchase of a minimum of 20 washable diapers (new or used)
- Purchase of fabric used to make washable diapers
- Use of a washable diaper rental service
Amount of the grant
Regular program:
- 50% (up to a limit of $120) for the purchase of washable diapers
- $10 per month for 12 months – washable diaper rental service ($120)
OR
Subsidized program for low-income families:
- $200 for the purchase of washable diapers (purchase value of at least $200)
- $17 per month towards the use of a washable diaper rental service for 12 months (up to a maximum of $204)
B – Sustainable feminine hygiene products
- Purchase of sustainable feminine hygiene products (menstrual cup, washable sanitary napkins, washable period underwear, sponges)
- Purchase of fabric used to make washable sanitary napkin
Amount of the grant
„h 50% of the purchase cost (up to $100 per person for a period of two years)
