A urban agriculture project called the “Conserre” is implemented in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (CDN—NDG) borough!
The Conserre demonstration garden outside the Vendôme metro station is aimed at promoting public awareness of the potential of urban agriculture. It was created by the Ville de Montréal in collaboration with the Société de transport de Montréal. A second Conserre garden will be set up at Parc de Kent from June until October 2016.This urban garden is designed and maintained by Ça pousse!, a social economy program put forward by the NDG Food Depot. Ça pousse! offers educational garden design, installation and maintenance services to institutions with the objective of helping them develop their own urban agriculture projects. All the produce from the Conserre will be redistributed to the community through the NDG Food Depot.
