Current petition regarding a request for a public consultation concerning the development of industrial port activities in the industrial sector of the borough and their cohabitation with the residential districts

A draft petition was filed on October 26, 2016 under the right of initiative as provided in the By-law concerning the Montréal Charter of Rights and Responsibilities and the Right of Initiative (05-056) for the purpose of requesting a public consultation with regard to the following object:
“The development of industrial port activities in the industrial sectors of the following zones: 0249, 0382, 0671, 0385, 0373, 0544, 0390, 0433, 0492, 0552, 0465, 0496 and their cohabitation with the surrounding residential districts.

This consultation aims at ensuring that the borough adopts development policies that are viable for the community, and that include development orientations regarding land use, intensity of activities, active transportation networks, and the nature and location of infrastructures destined to community life. This planning must also take into account the management of nuisances related to industrial port activities such as noise, air quality, vehicular traffic and trucking. Finally, it must propose improvements to the interfaces between the Port, the industries and the city.”

Petition signing period: December 20, 2016 to March 20, 2017, inclusively.
